Vehicle check

Maintenance work:

䉯 Check operation of horn, headlight flasher and

hazard warning flashers.

䉯 Check instrument and control lighting and

heater/air-conditioning blower.

䉯 Check lighting system: Turn signals, back-up,

license plate, interior (incl. map, reading

lights), glovebox, luggage area lights.

䉯 Safety belts: Check condition and function.

䉯 Check windshield wiper and washer jet

positions.

䉯 Mobility Kit: Check expiration date on sealant

container. Replace container if expired.

䉯 Tires: Check tread depth, wear pattern, outer

condition, inflation pressure. If necessary,

correct pressure.

䉯 Reset Tire Pressure Monitor.

䉯 Power steering: Check function.

䉯 Visually inspect all SRS airbag units for torn

covers, obvious damage or attachment of

stickers.

䉯 Rear-view mirrors.

䉯 Retorque the bolt for the door stop mechanism

at each front and rear door pillar.

䉯 Windshield washer and intensive cleaning

systems: Check protection level, fluid level; top

up if necessary.

䉯 Check the coolant level and anti-freeze

concentration for the drive circuit (underhood).

䉯 Check the coolant level and anti-freeze

concentration for the vehicle interior heating

circuit (underhood; uses a different coolant

fluid than for the drive coolant circuit).

䉯 Range Extender: Check the coolant level and

anti-freeze concentration (underfloor).

䉯 Brake system connections and lines: Check

for leaks, damage and correct positioning.

䉯 Underbody, incl. all visible parts (i.e.,

transmission, rear axle): Check for damage,

leaks and corrosion.

䉯 Check the occasional use charging cable for

damage (cuts, breakage, deformation),

corrosion and wear.

䉯 Steering components: Check for clearance,

leaks, damage and wear.

䉯 Final Inspection: Road test with check of:

–Brakes

– Steering

– Shock absorbers (visual)

Brake fluid

Maintenance work:

䉯 Replace brake fluid.

Maintenance services that display in

Front brakes

Maintenance work:

䉯 Replace brake pads and the brake wear

sensor; clean brake pad contact points in

calipers.

䉯 Lightly grease the wheel hub contact points to

prevent corrosion.

䉯 Brake discs: Check surface and thickness;

replace as necessary.

Rear brakes

Maintenance work:

䉯 Replace brake pads and brake wear sensor;

clean brake pad contact points in calipers.

䉯 Lightly grease the wheel hub contact points to

prevent corrosion.

䉯 Brake discs: Check surface and thickness;

replace as necessary.

䉯 Parking brake: Repair or replace parking brake

shoes/linings only if a reduction in the brake’s

effectiveness is noted. When fitted, parking

brake shoes/linings are excluded from

coverage under the BMW Maintenance

Program.
