interchangeable, phone-specic snap-in adapter, drivers
can make calls hands-free. When plugged in to the
system, the phone is automatically recharged. Operation
is via the iDrive Controller, multi-function steering wheel
or Voice Control. An external aerial ensures the best
possible reception at all times.
With 8.8-inch display, including BMW Professional
radio, on-board computer and expanded voice
control. GPS directs drivers swiftly and accur ately
to their destination. The system provides guidance
by voice instructions and route maps or directional
arrows. The splitscreen function enables information
from two sources – for example, the navigation
system and the radio menu – to be displayed at the
same time. The dynam ic route guidance system
suggests an alternative route when the radio receives
information on trafc congestion via TMC.
Enjoy all your favourite music on the road. The interface
connects the iPod™ directly to your vehicle’s audio
system: artist, song and genre information and playlists
can all be viewed on the control display, and music can be
selected using the iDrive Controller or the multi-function
steering wheel. The iPod™ is stored securely in the
glovebox, and the battery is charged during playback
through the vehicle’s electrical system.
Clearly shows the area behind the vehicle on the control
display. Interactive track lines show, for example, whether
or not a parking space is big enough for the vehicle. The
reversing camera is automatically activated when reverse
gear is engaged.
